We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Communication Systems Division at KTH. The position is connected to the large European research initiative RAI-6Green and the Swedish Wireless Innovation Network center SWE-WIN, which aim to advance resilient, robust, and energy-efficient wireless networks capable of supporting emerging services. The research focuses on resource management and orchestration, while leveraging new technologies such as integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). These initiatives bring together leading academic, industrial, and public-sector partners to develop innovative solutions for future communication networks and sensing-enabled services.
Job description
The successful candidate will contribute to research on energy-efficient network design, optimization, and orchestration across different network components, as well as to the development of sensing algorithms and ISAC solutions. The postdoctoral researcher will also play an active role in coordinating research activities within the group, leading collaborative tasks in national and international research projects, publishing results in leading journals and conferences, and supervising MSc students and co-supervising PhD students.
The research will be conducted in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, with close interaction with major industrial and research partners (e.g., Ericsson, Tele2, RISE,..) and other European companies and research institutions. The position offers excellent opportunities to conduct high-impact research, contribute to experimental demonstrators and standardization activities, and further develop a strong professional network across both academia and industry.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Good collaboration skills who can work independently.
- A strong research record in wireless communications, networking, or optimization.
Applicants are expected to have a strong background in at least one of the following areas:
- Integrated sensing and communication Cell-free massive MIMO
- beamforming, and MIMO algorithms
- Joint optimization of communication and computing resources
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- Experience with simulation frameworks, system-level performance evaluation, or machine learning, is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary and international environments.
- Strong communication and writing skills in English, as it is required in the daily work
- Experience in mentoring MSc or PhD students is meritorious.
- For KTH and the research group, awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality are important.
