Amentum is seeking an NGIS Warehouse Specialist to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The NGIS Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the facility storage plan, disposal preparation, shipping procedures, personal computer operation and the safe operation of warehouse equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing the daily operation of the warehouse facility.
- Review and verify the accuracy of the daily receiving report/shipping log.
- Remove material from storage and prepare for shipment.
- Advise and assist supervisors on reporting discrepancies and obvious damages upon inspection of material.
- Store, stack or palletize materials in preparation for storage and/or shipment.
- Provide leadership and training to the Warehouseman.
- File all paperwork per documented procedures.
- Enforce safety practices and environmental safety.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years’ experience in a warehouse required.
- Operation of hand or power trucks including forklifts in performing warehousing duties.
- Advanced knowledge or experience in the handling and management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
- Familiar with the army regulation FAR 52.245-1.
- Familiar with DLA/DS processes and DCMA ETOOLs
- Knowledge regarding the operation of a personal computer using Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using handheld scanners to perform transactions within a warehouse environment desired.
- Operation of hand or power trucks including forklifts in performing warehousing duties.
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver's license.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
