About the Opportunity
We are looking for an IT Consultant – Cloud Specialist to help design, automate and continuously improve scalable cloud environments within the automotive sector.
You will combine strong AWS expertise with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, security, observability and automation. Working closely with development and infrastructure teams, you will improve deployment workflows, platform reliability, operational efficiency and cloud cost management.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, automating repetitive processes and building secure, resilient and cost-efficient cloud platforms.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, implement and manage scalable cloud architectures on AWS.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, testing and deployment processes.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or Pulumi.
- Ensure the availability, scalability, performance and security of cloud environments.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads.
- Work with managed Kubernetes services such as Amazon EKS, Azure AKS or Google GKE.
- Automate operational and infrastructure tasks using Bash, Python or Go.
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
- Monitor cloud environments using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Amazon CloudWatch or Datadog.
- Define and enforce cloud security best practices.
- Configure and manage IAM policies, roles and access controls.
- Strengthen network security and support compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimise cloud-native applications.
- Improve DevOps workflows, deployment processes and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, pipeline, container and application issues.
- Implement configuration management using Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Drive cloud cost optimisation initiatives and FinOps best practices.
- Support technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.
Mandatory Requirements
- More than three years of relevant professional experience in Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar area.
- Proven professional experience as a Cloud DevOps Engineer or Cloud Specialist.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
- Solid experience designing and managing scalable cloud architectures.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools and practices.
- Practical experience with at least one of the following:
- Jenkins;
- GitHub Actions;
- GitLab CI/CD;
- Argo CD.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience managing containerised applications and workloads.
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or Pulumi.
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles.
- Experience with identity and access management, IAM policies and access control.
- Knowledge of network security and cloud compliance practices.
- Experience with observability, monitoring and logging tools.
- Practical experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK or Datadog.
- Strong automation and scripting skills using Bash, Python or Go.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Availability to work from Lisbon or Porto according to the required working model.
Valued Qualifications
- AWS certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or another relevant credential.
- Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.
- Experience working with Amazon EKS.
- Exposure to Azure AKS or Google GKE.
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles.
- Experience implementing cloud cost optimisation strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud governance and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in the automotive or mobility sector.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices.
- Experience supporting highly available and business-critical environments.
The Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Cloud and DevOps professional with more than three years of experience building and operating AWS environments.
You are comfortable designing cloud architectures, creating CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes workloads and provisioning infrastructure through code. You understand that a reliable cloud platform must combine automation, observability, security, scalability and cost control.
You can collaborate effectively with software-development teams, translate technical requirements into practical cloud solutions and investigate infrastructure or deployment issues with autonomy. You also communicate confidently in English and are available to work from Lisbon or Porto according to the defined working model.
Experience with AWS certifications, service mesh, serverless architectures, GitOps or FinOps will be highly valued.
