About MHG Global
MHG Global is a hospitality infrastructure platform for independent hotels.
Most hotels worldwide operate outside the major brands. They carry strong local identity and real guest relationships, but lack the technology, distribution, capital, and talent infrastructure typically reserved for large hospitality groups.
MHG Global is building that infrastructure and making it available to independent hotel owners without requiring a brand trade. The platform owns its technology stack, integrated across the hotel network: procurement, CRM, HRM, training, PMS, back office and POS, CRS with content management, TA portal and allotment, and booking engine.
Position Summary
The Head of Business Development – Hotel & Partnerships builds MHG Global's hotel network and the partnerships that support it within their market — from origination through to signature. The role carries a growth number and owns delivery against it.
This is a hands-on role. The successful candidate builds their pipeline personally from day one, and is well suited to someone with a startup mindset — resourceful, self-driven, and comfortable operating without the benefit of an established brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate, negotiate, and close agreements with independent hotels, owner groups, and operators
- Convert introductions sourced by the firm's advisors and leadership into signed agreements
- Develop and execute market entry plans for the assigned location (Bangkok or Bali), within the broader Southeast Asia expansion strategy
- Help shape the commercial structures offered to member hotels, including management, franchise, and affiliation arrangements
- Build and maintain relationships with technology, distribution, and industry partners
- Represent MHG Global at regional conferences and industry forums
- Support the development of the group's education ecosystem
- Work closely with fellow Business Development team members in the same location to share market intelligence and optimise the shared pipeline
Qualifications and Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in business development, hotel development, hospitality investment, or growth roles at startups / travel-tech companies (e.g. Agoda, Traveloka, Klook, or similar travel/hospitality startups)
- Startup background strongly preferred — candidates with an entrepreneurial, commercially driven mindset who thrive in fast-changing environments
- An established network among hotel owners and operators in Southeast Asia is a strong advantage
- Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline personally, without the benefit of established brand recognition
- Fluent written and spoken English; Thai, Indonesian, or another regional language is an advantage
- Experience originating and closing B2B commercial agreements; direct experience with hotel management, franchise, or affiliation agreements is strongly preferred
