At COWI, we are looking for a Senior Concrete Design Specialist to strengthen our expertise within complex concrete structures and large infrastructure projects within major bridges, large tunnels, marine structures. Turn challenges into sustainable solutions
As a Senior Concrete Design Specialist, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects. You will work with complex concrete structures where sound engineering judgement, technical expertise and close collaboration are essential. You will contribute to projects from early concept and design through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with colleagues, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and performing structural design of complex concrete structures
- Developing robust and constructable solutions for large infrastructure projects
- Providing specialist expertise within concrete design and structural engineering
- Taking technical responsibility for design packages and contributing to design management
- Supporting project teams with technical advice, reviews and engineering assessments
- Collaborating with structural, geotechnical, architectural and other engineering disciplines
- Participating in client dialogue and technical discussions with contractors and project partners
- Contributing to technical development, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within our concrete and structural engineering community
- Supporting the development of less experienced engineers and sharing your expertise across the organisation

To succeed in this role, you have a strong technical background in structural engineering and extensive experience with concrete design and major structures. You are comfortable working on complex projects where technical challenges require both specialist knowledge and practical engineering judgement. Experience from projects such as bridges, tunnels, marine structures, transportation infrastructure, large foundations or other complex concrete structures will be highly relevant. You are motivated by working side by side with 100+ talented professionals in Lyngby to create innovative solutions and shape the future of major structures.
On top of that you have:
- A Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred or a similar discipline
- Significant professional experience with structural design from civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, analysis and relevant design standards
- Experience taking technical responsibility for complex design tasks or packages
- The ability to understand complex problems and translate them into practical, high-quality solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in multidisciplinary and/or international project teams
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing actively to a team
