Your personal sphere of play:
Your future position is at the Department of Physical Chemistry in the work group for Chemical Sensing and Rapid Analysis at the Faculty of Chemistry, characterized by excellent research in biomimetic sensing. Especially, it is on the forefront of designing and utilizing molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP). The group combines fundamental materials research with the aim of bringing MIP as close as possible to commercial applications. It operates in a highly multidisciplinary area that combines aspects of materials’ science with analysis and physicochemical fundaments as much as topics inspired by biology. For that purpose, the group operates a range of analytical and sensing instrumentation, partly in cooperation with Faculty Centers. It comprises nanomicroscopic techniques, electrochemical techniques, mass-sensitive measuring science and molecular spectroscopy.
The postdoctoral position is a 3-year fixed-term position.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
You build up an independent research profile in the field of sensing/assay formats utilizing MIP.
You are involved in research projects in the area of (solid-phase synthesized) MIP.
You publish internationally and give lectures.
You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in chemistry (MUST CRITERION)
- Outstanding dissertation (MUST CRITERION)
- Knowledge on Chemical Sensing (MUST CRITERION)
- Excellent knowledge of English (C1) (MUST CRITERION)
- Experience in research management and in leading project staff (TARGET CRITERION)
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning (TARGET CRITERION)
- IT skills (Office products, data evaluation, Python) (TARGET CRITERION)
- Team player and high social/communicative skills (TARGET CRITERION)
- Knowledge of MIP synthesis and characterization (TARGET CRITERION)
- Basic knowledge of German language (TARGET CRITERION)
- Experience in mass-sensitive measurements (NICE-TO-HAVE CRITERION)
