We are searching for a Technical Business Analyst
The Data Modernization Program is responsible for transforming BEC’s data ecosystem, moving from legacy solutions to a modern data platform built around scalable, compliant, and reusable data products. Working closely with BEC member banks, we enable better access to data, improve data quality, and support a wide range of reporting, analytics, and advanced data consumption use cases.
The Technical Business Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of business, data and technology, shaping how data is exposed, governed, and consumed across BEC. You will collaborate with Product Owners, data and platform engineers, architects and banking stakeholders to ensure business and technical needs are translated into sustainable, high-quality data solutions.
The role provides a broad stakeholder landscape, close collaboration across teams in both Denmark and Poland, and meaningful influence on solutions used throughout the financial sector.
You will join the Data Product Center, a central part of BEC’s Data Modernization Program. The team is dedicated to accelerating the delivery of data products by providing modern tooling, standards, and platform capabilities that enable development teams across the organization. Your direct manager will be Mateusz Kruszek.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
Requirements & Solution design
- Analyze existing data solutions, business processes, data flows, dependencies, and stakeholder needs to define clear requirements within modernization of existing data solutions, transitioning from a legacy Netezza-based Data Warehouse to BEC’s modern multi-cloud (Azure & AWS) and Databricks data platform.
- Translate business, governance, and technical requirements into Deliverables, Features, user stories, process descriptions, and testable acceptance criteria
- Support the complete solution lifecycle by clarifying requirements during implementation, assisting with functional validation and acceptance testing, and ensuring that business, operational, support, and governance needs are addressed before release.
Platform Enablement & Data Product Adoption
- Partner with data product delivery teams to gather feedback, identify capability gaps, improvement opportunities, and recurring challenges, and translate them into actionable platform enhancements, features, and requirements that improve the development and operation of data products.
- Engage with BEC member banks and internal business domains to understand needs, validate solutions, and support onboarding to new data products and platform capabilities.
Data Governance & Compliance Adoption
- Drive and continuously improve data governance practices within Data Modernization, supporting areas such as data ownership, data quality, lineage, metadata management, data contracts, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure alignment with BEC Delivery Process, data governance principles, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Architects and Data Governance roles to ensure high-quality, reliable, and well-governed data foundations
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Participate actively in agile ways of working, including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives, helping maintain a clear, prioritized, and implementation-ready backlog.
To succeed you will have:
- Experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role working with complex data and technology domains.
- Proven ability to translate business, governance, and technical needs into Features, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Good understanding of data flows, data modelling concepts, system integrations, and modern data platforms.
- Practical SQL skills and the ability to analyze, validate, and investigate data.
- Knowledge of, or strong interest in, data governance concepts such as data quality, data ownership, metadata management, lineage, and data contracts.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements in data-intensive environments.
- Motivation to drive and mature data governance practices across a large-scale modernization program.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments and collaborating with engineers, architects, QA engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business, data, and technical teams.
- A proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Willingness to challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to improve platform capabilities and data product delivery.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Relevant educational background in IT, Data, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience with Databricks, Azure, AWS, or modern cloud-based data platforms.
