To support this growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – HVDC/MVDC to join our team and contribute to the next generation of electrical safety solutions.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of a team developing advanced switchgear solutions that protect other critical equipment within electrical power systems. These systems include energy transmission stations, converter stations, energy storage systems, and more, both for medium- and high-voltage requirements.
A key part of our technology is our pyrotechnic switching solution, enabling extremely fast opening and closing of electrical circuits to protect equipment, infrastructure, and people.
In this role, you will take ownership of mechanical design activities throughout the product development process, from concept generation and detailed design to testing, industrialization, and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for safety-critical products
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using CATIA
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses related to mechanics, thermal performance, and structural integrity
- Support product verification, testing, and validation activities
- Drive design-for-manufacturing and cost-efficient design solutions in collaboration with production teams
- Conduct and document Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA)
- Apply ISO Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) and other relevant engineering standards
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and project management
- Contribute to technical innovation and product development strategies

Qualifications
Required
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Experience in mechanical design and product development
- Strong CAD skills, preferably in CATIA
- Experience creating and managing 3D models and 2D drawings
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structural mechanics and engineering physics
- Professional proficiency in English
Meritorious
- Experience working with FMEA
- Knowledge of ISO GPS standards
- Experience with safety-critical or highly regulated products
- Understanding of power electronics, HVDC/MVDC systems, or energy infrastructure applications
- Experience supporting manufacturing and industrialization activities
