About the opportunity
Amentum is the Technical Advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o. (PEJ), which is the state-owned entity responsible for delivering Poland’s first nuclear power programme. The Technical Advisor’s (TA) role is that of an “Owner’s Engineer”, which is not involved directly in any NPP design or construction activity, but rather acts as an advocate for the Client, applying technical due diligence to all aspects of the process, along with supply chain and contract management support for plant and equipment vendors engaged by the Client. The TA fulfils this function through the delivery of engineering and technical packages of work (referred to as Service Authorisations, SA’s) which require the development, approval, implementation and reporting of a diverse range of engineering and technical methods by suitably qualified and experienced team members.
The role of Assistance Project Manager is to support the Project Manager with the management of assigned multidiscipline projects within the engineering and technical programme of work through all phases, from inception to completion. The Assistant Project Manager collaborates with other project functions and may need to support certain administration tasks as necessary. We are happy to consider candidates available to work out of our Warsaw or Krakow offices.
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for:
- Supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, control and close-out.
- Assisting with the preparation of scopes of work, schedules, estimates, service authorisations and project proposals.
- Supporting project delivery activities including estimating, procurement, project controls, change management, risk management and governance processes.
- Coordinating inputs from technical teams, planners and stakeholders to support project planning, monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
- Preparing, reviewing and challenging project information and contributing to routine project reports, change notices and governance reviews.
- Monitoring project budgets and expenditures, reviewing supply chain invoices and supporting financial reporting activities.
- Assisting with supply chain and procurement processes, including purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Supporting quality management activities, including quality documentation, document reviews, approvals and audit preparation.
- Maintaining project documentation and document control systems, including SharePoint, Technical Execution Plans (TEPs) and other project deliverables.
- Coordinating travel-related documentation and supporting project controls reporting, including flights and per diem records.
- Organising internal and external meetings, preparing meeting minutes and facilitating effective communication across project teams and stakeholders.
- Acting as CV coordinator and supporting resource and proposal activities as required.
- Providing project management guidance and support to team members and deputising for the Project Manager during short periods of absence.
- Supporting compliance with Business Management System (BMS) requirements, project governance standards and safe project delivery practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in an engineering or technical environment.
- Experience supporting projects and working within multidisciplinary teams is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively within project teams and in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and capable of working independently when required.
- Willingness and ability to obtain BPSS security clearance (or equivalent), if required for project delivery.
