About the Role
This is a full‑time position based at our manufacturing facility in Trelleborg, Sweden.
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team at Textron GSE's manufacturing facility in Trelleborg, Sweden. This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for managing and developing a global supplier base, supporting sourcing strategies, driving cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring continuity of supply for our manufacturing operations, and aftermarket business. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Sourcing.
Working within a collaborative team, the successful candidate will have significant autonomy and responsibility, partnering closely with colleagues across supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance. The role also offers the opportunity to travel internationally to supplier locations, build strong supplier relationships, and play a key role in supporting new product introductions and strategic sourcing projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the selection and management of new and current suppliers, while leading efforts to identify and implement supplier cost reductions
- Performing make vs. buy analysis to determine optimal chain of supply for materials and suppliers.
- Supporting materials and quality teams to identify supplier delivery and quality issues.
- Sourcing materials for new product launches and product model changes while interfacing with appropriate functional managers and cross-functional teams to understand and ensure project success.
- Supporting the supplier transition process by allocating work from an external supplier to in-house production or vice versa.
- Coordinating request for quote packages with supply base to ensure premium pricing for sourced materials.
- Collaborating with the finance and accounting departments to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
- Managing materials projects by using problem solving techniques, data from factory information systems, and lean manufacturing concepts.

- Material Cost Optimization
- Projects delivered on-time, and according to the cost, quality and scope planned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field required OR years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
- At least two years relevant work experience with a degree or equivalent, or at least five years relevant work experience without a degree or equivalent.
- Microsoft Office Suite, ERP system experience required; SAP and Teamcenter (Product Lifecycle Management) experience preferred.
- Supply Chain Certificate through APICS or ISM preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical illustrations in a mathematical diagram and apply mathematical concepts and operations preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, taking ownership of sourcing activities and driving initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and develop productive supplier partnerships.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying opportunities to improve cost, quality, and supply chain performance.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (~30% of the time) to support supplier development, sourcing activities, and strategic projects.
