This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Cost Engineer in our office in Eindhoven or Amsterdam with Signify.
This role analyzes cost data and identifies cost-saving opportunities. Supports project teams by providing accurate cost estimates and financial insights.
- Oversee the preparation process and prepare pricing for the products/components.
- Cooperation with all departments and functions involved in the process of preparation and valuation of products/components, cost prices analysis and roadmaping, productivity plans etc.
- Support the Management and other units with the analysis of the valuation of products/components.
- Liaise with Production Managers in the area of continuous productivity improvement, cost drivers analysis and interpretation of the results.
- Participate in improvement projects and other projects defined by the Management.
- Drives cost benchmarking analysis and follow-up.
- Preparation and analysis of internal monthly results, productivity, and investments.
- Investment projects contribution (profitability, control, reporting etc).
- Prepares detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects and processes.
- Monitors and controls project budgets to ensure costs are within approved limits.
- Collaborates with engineering and production teams to optimize cost efficiency.
- Analyzes historical cost data to identify trends and potential savings.
- Supports procurement activities by evaluating supplier costs and contracts.
- Prepares cost reports and presentations for management review.
- Assists in the development and implementation of cost control procedures and tools.
More about you
While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:
- A bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field is essential to understand manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in cost engineering, manufacturing cost analysis, or production cost control within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytic skills and previous experience working with Finance tools (Excel is essential, SAP is a plus).
- Professional certification in Cost Engineering (e.g., AACE International Certified Cost Technician or Certified Cost Professional) would be a plus to this role to validate expertise in cost management and estimation methodologies.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness and availability to travel internationally 10% of the working time, visiting factories at least once a year.
