About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our European finance team. This role will be responsible for end-to-end accounts receivable management, payment approvals, employee expense administration, monthly closing processes, regulatory and management reporting, and coordination with external auditors. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Receivable
- Issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor and follow up on customer collections
- Manage AR aging reports and drive reduction of overdue receivables
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
2. Payment & Employee Expense Management
- Review and approve payment requests in accordance with company policy
- Review and approve employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies
- Provide training and guidance to employees on expense submission procedures and policy compliance
3. Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Support monthly closing processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Prepare compliance reports (e.g., VAT, statistical filings)
- Prepare management reports and cash flow analysis for decision-making
4. External Coordination
- Coordinate daily invoice transfers and document submissions
- Facilitate audit and tax filing support as needed
5. Ad-Hoc Tasks
- Support other finance-related projects and initiatives as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree or above in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; experience in a multinational environment is a plus
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and Swedish GAAP preferred)
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP experience is a strong plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (PivotTable, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in Swedish or Mandarin Chinese is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability – comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment; able to embrace change and adjust priorities as the business grows
