Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and operational readiness of assets. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills to coordinate resources, manage workload priorities, and align with operational schedules
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining detailed preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles, and systems within the organization.
- Coordinating maintenance activities with supervisors, team leads, and other departments or stakeholders to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
- Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or equivalent tools to track work orders, initiate service requests, and monitor maintenance completion.
- Ensuring maintenance schedules adhere to manufacturer recommendations, industry best practices, and organizational policies.
- Preparing reports to analyze work backlog, equipment utilization, and resource requirements for maintenance tasks.
- Monitoring and adjusting schedules based on operational priorities, resource availability, or unforeseen changes.
- Communicating with maintenance personnel and supervisors to ensure clarity of work tasks, scope, and timing.
- Verifying work orders for accuracy and completeness before scheduling maintenance tasks.
- Working closely with inventory teams to ensure availability of parts, tools, and consumables for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Assisting in the identification of critical equipment, prioritization of maintenance tasks, and development of contingency plans.
- Conducting periodic evaluations and contributing to operational improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies or delays within the scheduling process.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination in an industrial, government, or military environment.
- Proficient in using CMMS or equivalent maintenance tracking and scheduling systems.
- Strong understanding of maintenance processes for vehicles, equipment, and systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in planning and documentation.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year at the time of hire.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
- Ability to successfully meet contract medical requirements and maintain readiness throughout deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical training or certifications in maintenance management, planning, or scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Operations, or a related field.
- Previous experience working within a military or government maintenance program.
- Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, and supply chain coordination.
- Experience working in austere environments or OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) locations.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures and standards, including preventive maintenance best practices.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
