Product Manager for Mobile Command and Control Products
Channel your experience as an army officer into developing products that make a difference in the field. As part of Systematic’s Defence Product Management team, you will help shape the future of our SitaWare Mobile Command and Control products – developed for soldiers by someone who understands the job from the inside.
The role
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will join the product management team and collaborate closely with the Business Product Manager for our mobile C2 products. Together, you will help define the vision and strategy for our SitaWare Mobile Command and Control products. A core element of your role will be day-to-day guidance of the development team as a subject matter expert, ensuring that what we decide to build is implemented in a way that works effectively for soldiers in the field.
In short, you can look forward to:
taking ownership of daily guidance of the development team, translating agreed features into implementation that works for soldiers in the field – ensuring user satisfaction
using your subject matter expertise to define and manage the vision and strategy for enhancing and expanding our mobile command and control products
serving as the voice of the customer and end user when implementing product enhancements
providing the sales team with the necessary product knowledge, sales collateral and assistance in connection with special customer visits, and representing Systematic at conferences and trade shows
being part of change control boards, helping prioritise defects and change requests based on what matters most to soldiers in the field
Joining the team
You will join our product management team in Systematic’s Defence Business Unit, working side by side with the Business Product Manager for mobile C2, our development teams and colleagues across sales, service and marketing. It is a team that cares about creating solutions that genuinely work for the people using them – if that is what drives you too, then you will feel right at home.
Your qualifications
Ideally, you will bring several years of experience from the armed forces – perhaps as an officer, company commander or in a signals or communications role – or from working closely with defence organisations. As a result, you will have first-hand insight into military operations, command and control at battalion level and below, and how systems are introduced and used in the field. That operational perspective will enable you to understand the end user and contribute relevant expertise to the development of our mobile C2 products.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
the ability to turn operational insight and understanding of end-user needs into clear product requirements that development teams can act on
a collaborative approach and the confidence to provide subject matter expertise across product management, development and sales teams
strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and the confidence to present to larger audiences and to represent Systematic at customer presentations, user forums and conferences
We are also looking for someone who:
is self-motivated and energetic, with a genuine drive to make a difference for the people who use the products you will help to build
has a sense of curiosity and is well organised, with the ability to set priorities and keep pace with a growing product area
This role will involve approximately 20–30 days of travel a year, visiting customers, Systematic offices and events.
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years, as we work on security-classified projects. Read more here.
