About you and this role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Technician at our site in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.

In this role, you will support the Aromatics/Butadiene Plants by maintaining production installations and equipment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance as well as repairs on a wide range of equipment within your area of technical expertise. You will apply broad technical knowledge, including analytical and operational processes, to execute a defined scope of work. In addition, you will collaborate closely with planners, schedulers, and execution teams.

As an E&I Maintenance Technician, you will work with limited supervision and may serve as an informal technical resource and mentor for less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Calibrates and aligns equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance activities.
  • Verifies the correct sizing and specification of components and parts.
  • Specifies, orders, and installs parts and equipment.
  • Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
  • Supports the planning, prioritization, and scheduling of maintenance work in collaboration with the planner, work coordinator, and Operations.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, tests, measures, and repairs all types of control systems and instrumentation, including pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Repairs, maintains, and installs equipment and machinery used in the production process.
  • Identifies and resolves equipment faults and documents troubleshooting and failure analyses.
  • Collects operational and historical equipment data to support reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Works in accordance with established Maintenance Work Processes and contributes to resolving issues arising from planning and scheduling activities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum MBO-4 diploma in a technical discipline, preferably Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Instrumentation, or an MBO-3 diploma in a technical field combined with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • You have relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with PLC systems is considered an advantage.

Your Skills

  • Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to investigate the root cause of problems and identify effective solutions.
  • Initiative – Ability to proactively identify and repair equipment failures and malfunctions without being directed.
  • Maintenance Skills – Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Mechanical Skills – Basic mechanical skills to support maintenance activities within the plant.
  • Communication Skills – Strong communication skills to effectively communicate within the plant and clearly provide feedback on how issues have been resolved.
  • Team Coordination - Ability to provide technical guidance, coordinate work activities, and support less experienced team members.
