You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We’re democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 40,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.
But what truly sets us apart? Our people. We’re a diverse group of innovative thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers who believe in delivering an incredible product—and having fun while doing it.The Opportunity
Hardware is genuinely the heart of Veo and very broad; Optics, Video processing, signal processing, battery management, mechanics, electronics, industrial design and firmware all have to come together into a product that works reliably on pitches and in gyms around the world, at scale, in 90+ countries.
We're looking for a senior engineering leader to lead our Hardware efforts end-to-end. This is as much a program management and people leadership role as a technical one. You'll set the roadmap together with the Executive team, run the timeline and budget, and build the team, while partnering closely with Product, AI, Video, Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ship new hardware on time and at quality.
You'll need a good general understanding of mechanics, design, electronics, and firmware to do this job well — plus real fluency in DFM/DFA for large-scale production and assembly line setups, and a good grip on agile ways of working.
How Hardware fits into Builders
Builders is Veo's product-building organisation, bringing together Engineering, Product, Design, AI, Firmware, Video, Platform and Hardware. Hardware is a core engineering discipline at Veo and our cameras are the foundation of the customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Own and lead the Hardware team (optics, video processing, signal processing, battery management, mechanics, electronics/EE, industrial design), hiring, coaching, and developing the engineers in the group.
- Set technical direction and contribute to the product vision for Veo's Capture Portfolio, from concept through mass production. Partner cross-functionally with Product, AI, Video to align priorities and make the right trade-offs.
- Lead projects end-to-end: planning, task management, and follow-up, so commitments made to the business are commitments you can keep.
- Own program management for hardware initiatives: scoping, realistic timelines with sensible buffers, critical path and dependency management, and honest, running status reporting.
- Run the team's agile ways of working — stand-ups, sprint planning, retros, backlog refinement — adapted to what a hardware team actually needs.
- Own DFM/DFA and manufacturing readiness; partner with our internal assembly line, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to hit cost, quality, and time-to-market targets.
- Build and own Capex/Opex budgets for your team and your programs.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal for vendor contract management for key hardware components, including supplier selection inputs, commercial terms, lead times, quality commitments, change control, risk mitigation, and ongoing performance governance.
- Be an active member of Builders' senior engineering leadership, helping shape engineering standards, operating rhythms, technical trade-offs, and leadership culture across Veo.
- Together with Product represent Hardware in Builders-wide prioritisation, planning, and roadmap conversations, ensuring hardware constraints, opportunities, and risks are understood early.
- Raise the bar on engineering excellence — quality, reliability, testing, and documentation — across the hardware development lifecycle.
- Take real ownership: there's a lot of responsibility here, and a lot of freedom to run it the way you see fit.
What You Could Bring
- Significant experience leading hardware engineering teams for consumer electronics, including experience managing other managers or leads as a team scales, or a master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Broad technical fluency across optics, video processing, signal processing, battery management, mechanics, electronics/EE, and DFM/DFA for high-volume manufacturing, plus enough firmware understanding to make good trade-off calls with that team.
- A strong program management track record: planning, budgeting, risk management, and cross-functional coordination on complex, multi-disciplinary hardware programs.
- Experience taking products from prototype through mass production, working with contract manufacturers and/or in-house assembly lines.
- A leadership style that builds trust, ownership, and high standards, and that's comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strong systems thinking across hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and customer experience.
Bonus experience:
- Direct firmware background, or experience managing firmware teams alongside hardware.
- Having scaled a hardware team through significant headcount and product-line growth.
- Hardware + software business models, or multi-product environments. Our Copenhagen office mirrors our innovative technology – with an indoor ball court, rooftop terrace, and well-equipped gym. We have created a facility that supports connecting disciplines across the business, facilitates creative thinking, and gives the space to engage with colleagues, our global partners, and the entire Veo community.
Values we hold at Veo: Dare - We take initiative, stay curious, and challenge the status quo in our work.
