Description of the Research Group
The Clinical Urothelial Cancer Research Group (focusing on bladder cancer, renal pelvis cancer, and ureteral cancer) conducts research aimed at improving prognostic assessment through the use of biomarkers and other methods for predicting and monitoring treatment response. The group is led by Professor and Senior Consultant Fredrik Liedberg.

The research activities are based at the Department of Translational Medicine in Malmö.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
In the role of Assistant Researcher, you will perform laboratory work (including cell culture in model systems) and conduct bioinformatics analyses. Responsibilities also include the preparation of scientific manuscripts, the submission of abstracts, and participation in relevant scientific conferences. You may also be involved in the supervision of students.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the position:
- A PhD degree.
- Extensive knowledge of the molecular subtyping of bladder cancer.
- Documented experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis.
- Extensive experience of laboratory work using bladder cancer models.
- Documented proficiency in spoken and written English.
The position requires strong collaborative skills, a solution-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Consideration will also be given to how the applicant's experience and expertise are deemed to complement and strengthen ongoing research within the research groups, as well as contribute to their future development.

This is a speciall fixed-term employment (SÄVA) for the period 1 December 2026 to 28 February 2027, at 100% full-time.
