Master Data SAP Data Specialist for Finance
Location: Alcântara, Lisbon, Portugal
Working hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
Contract type: Permanent

As our new SAP Finance Data Specialist, you will be part of our Master Data Management team and play an important role in ensuring the quality and integrity of financial master data. You will work closely with Finance teams, business stakeholders, and colleagues across functions to maintain, improve, and govern master data. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data across an international organization
In this role, you will typically focus on:
Lead validation of all requests raised for master data maintenance, performing detailed clarification with business requestors during both request creation and maintenance phases.
Execute complex data maintenance flows independently (create, update, extend, deactivate) across assigned domains, following established standards and governance policies.
Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and drive remediation efforts to resolve problems systematically.
Recommend and implement process improvements for data handling, maintenance workflows, and quality assurance procedures.
Ensure compliance with controls framework, master data governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and report data quality issues within assigned domains, contributing to periodic cleanup and enrichment initiatives.
Ensure a customer-centric and partnership approach to develop strong relationships with other working groups.
Stay updated on data governance and financial reporting best practices.
Support MDM and SAP system upgrades, data migrations, and integration efforts related to financial data.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related areas is preferred.
4+ years of work experience related to SAP Master Data.
Knowledge of Data Standards, Data Quality, and Data Governance principles, with a focus on Financial Data.
Good understanding of financial data and its importance in financial reporting and analysis.
Working experience of MDM tools & systems, preferably SAP MDG.
Effective communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Collaborative mindset to work effectively within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
Familiarity with financial systems and data management practices, particularly SAP FI-CO.
Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
