Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Malmö, Sweden (onsite for the first 6 months, then 3 days per week in the office)
Employment Type: Full-time
The job
Join one of our R&D teams in Malmö and help design and develop the next generation of AVEVA’s market-leading 3D modelling and fabrication tools for the marine industry. You will work on complex software used by customers to design and build some of the world’s most advanced structures. The role involves contributing to product enhancements and fixes, collaborating with teams across sites, and helping deliver high-quality engineering software using established standards and agile practices.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of complex product enhancements, fixes, and technical improvements
- Plan and deliver work that may span multiple sprints, supporting peers where needed
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
- Follow team processes and engineering best practices while suggesting improvements to products and ways of working
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Testers, Product Support, and R&D teams across multiple sites
Essential requirements
- Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience developing professional software applications
- Experience working in a Windows and .NET development environment
- Ability to contribute to complex software development tasks across the product lifecycle
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across roles and locations
Desired skills and competencies
- Experience with task-based, multi-site configuration management tools such as Azure DevOps and Git
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
- Interest or experience in user interface and user experience design
- Knowledge of shipbuilding, engineering design, mathematics (particularly linear algebra), geometry, construction materials, or fabrication techniques
- Curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to solve challenging technical problems in a supportive, experienced team
