About the role:

As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled team within our Developer Experience area, building and evolving the platforms, services, and capabilities that support software engineering across SEB.

This is a role for someone who wants to combine hands-on engineering with platform thinking and enterprise-scale impact. You will work with modern DevOps and platform engineering practices to create secure, scalable, and user-friendly capabilities for software development and delivery. Our mission is to simplify the path from idea to production and to provide a better developer experience across the bank.

We are in an exciting phase where our landscape is evolving further towards cloud-native services, stronger platform capabilities, and AI-enabled engineering. That means you will not only improve and operate current services, but also help shape the next generation of our internal developer platform and the way engineering is done at SEB.

You will work closely with developers, architects, security specialists, and other engineering teams to design, improve, and operate capabilities such as CI/CD, developer workflows, automation, integrations, and other platform components. You are expected to understand both the bigger picture and the technical details, and to turn platform capabilities into real value for engineering teams across the organisation.

This role is a strong fit for someone who is curious, collaborative, and motivated by meaningful technical challenges. You enjoy solving complex problems, improving ways of working, and enabling others to succeed through better platforms, automation, and engineering practices.

What you will be doing:

• Build, improve, and operate platform capabilities that support SEB’s developer community
• Create automations, integrations, and standardised workflows that simplify software delivery
• Contribute to the continued shift towards SaaS, cloud, and modern platform services
• Help define and apply modern platform engineering practices across our area
• Explore how AI can strengthen developer productivity, workflows, and experience
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to turn needs into scalable platform solutions
• Drive adoption through communication, documentation, tutorials, and presentations
• Continuously improve reliability, usability, governance, and efficiency in the services we provide

To thrive in this role, we believe you bring:

• Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to improve systems, processes, and developer experience
• Good communication skills in English
• A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in enabling others
• It is an advantage if you have worked with software development
• Experience in several of the following areas is valuable:
• • Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions
• • CI/CD and software delivery automation
• • Artifactory or similar repository management tools
• • Static code analysis and DevSecOps practices
• • Containers and Kubernetes
• • Scripting and programming
• • Cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS)
• • Platform Engineering, developer platforms, and Internal Developer Portals
• • Infrastructure as code, for example Terraform or similar tools
• • AI developer tools or AI-enabled engineering workflows
• • Linux and Windows
