Head (f/m/d) of EHS - Region Europe & Africa

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of EHS for the region Europe & Africa, you provide strategic and operational EHS leadership across Gas Services Europe & Africa by setting regional direction and governance, leading EHS Team Leads, fostering a proactive safety culture and embedding Siemens Energy's Zero Harm Program consistently across countries, sites, projects, workshops, and field service operations. You own the regional EHS strategy and Zero Harm deployment, actively build a values-driven safety culture that empowers employees at all levels to take personal ownership of EHS, lead and hold the EHS organization accountable for consistent execution, advise regional business leadership and intervene, escalate, or stop work when credible risk of harm exists. How You’ll Make an Impact* Define and deliver the EU&AF EHS strategy and annual Zero Harm plan, lead, coach and develop the regional EHS organization as well as govern resources, succession, standards and management systems and embed EHS into business planning, operations and decision-making

• Define and execute the regional EHS cultural transformation strategy to make proactive safety practices part of our daily work routine
• Champion Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles, embed psychological safety, drive transparent reporting and cultivate a "just culture" where safety concerns and stop-work decisions are actively encouraged and celebrated
• Establish the regional risk framework, assure effective controls and compliance with Zero Harm requirements, oversee high-risk work and safe-start decisions, approve risk acceptance positions and escalate systemic risks to business and global EHS leadership
• Govern incident reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective-action closure, sponsor reviews of serious incidents and high-potential near misses as well as ensure lessons learned are implemented, verified and supported by reliable data
• Set regional standards for contractor and temporary workforce safety, competence and training, ensure compliance with local legislation, works council and customer requirements as well as sponsor health and wellbeing initiatives with country organizations and Global Health Management
• Own the regional audit and assurance program, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 readiness, define and report leading and lagging EHS indicators as well as safety climate and culture maturity metrics
• Ensure the integrity of environmental, health and safety data used in internal and external reporting, convert trends into targeted prevention as well as govern improvement campaigns with measurable outcomes aligned with business and sustainability priorities
• Provide senior EHS input to bids, budgets, resourcing and responsibilities, represent Gas Services EU&AF in customer engagements, escalations and global governance forums as well as help shape Gas Services and Siemens Energy EHS strategy
• Engage executives, operational leaders, employees and contractors to build shared ownership of Zero Harm, provide clear performance and corrective-action reporting, lead regional EHS communications and lessons learned as well as foster open dialogue where concerns, near misses and stop-work decisions are raised without hesitation What You Bring* Recognized EHS qualifications (preferably Master’s degree) and substantial senior leadership experience in complex, multi-country operations, including people leadership
• Experience in ISO 14001/45001 management systems, multi-jurisdiction legislation, serious incident governance, risk management and converting strategy into measurable delivery
• Proven track record in driving organizational safety culture transformation, behavioral change programs and implementing Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) practices across diverse operations
• Lead multi-country EHS programs with a field-first mindset, turn risk and performance insights into preventive action, influence and challenge senior leaders as well as build line ownership through others and operate credibly with executives, customers, regulators and works councils
• A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, natural science or a related technical discipline is required; a relevant master's degree is preferred
• Desired: Lead-auditor credentials and practical audit experience, regional or global leadership across diverse cultures and legal frameworks, Gas Services service or manufacturing knowledge as well as stakeholder management skills About the Team
