We are seeking a talented Data Architect and Modeler to develop and govern consistent, scalable data architecture for Volvo Group Master Data Management. In this role, you will create and evolve enterprise-level data models, ensure consistency and accuracy across domains, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Volvo Group’s ambition to become a truly data-driven company.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and drive the Master Data architecture strategy and technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, Volvo design principles, and long-term data platform goals.

Design and govern scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures, establishing frameworks, standards, and governance processes that ensure data quality, consistency, compliance, and efficient data flows.

Own and evolve the Volvo Group Data Model (VGDM) for the Unified Data Platform, including lifecycle management, scope definition, backlog prioritization, and alignment with business and platform needs.

Lead the design and integration of conceptual, logical, and physical data models, mapping business concepts and source data to the Teradata mLDM structure and enabling effective integration of data from multiple sources for analytics and decision-making.

Collaborate with Master Data architects and cross-functional stakeholders to define data architecture standards and ensure alignment across engineering, analytics, application development, and platform teams.

Review, govern, and integrate data model changes, maintaining strong quality controls and ensuring consistency across data models, business glossaries, and governance frameworks.

Drive continuous improvement of data products, technologies, data designs, and data flows, partnering with the central platform organization to enhance data capabilities and accelerate business value. Who are you?

Have 5+ years of experience in data modeling, with a strong grasp of both normalized and de-normalized data models to support scalable, high-quality data solutions.

You are proficient in data analysis, familiar with the Teradata Vantage Data Model (or similar), and can work in an agile environment.

You have a university degree or equivalent and several years of experience as a data architect practitioner especially in Azure's full suite of services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and practical understanding of DBT Framework.
The right candidate can think and act strategically, operate tactically, and implement change effectively, managing change priorities in a business-focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact.
As this is a leading role, there will be next to the technical focus, also a strong focus on soft skills. We expect someone very structured and works fact-based and can defend her/his points of view to challenging stakeholders.
