Job Description
Requirements analysis and definition, translating concepts into complete embedded hardware designs from architecture through working hardware
Design, analysis, documentation, verification, and test of digital and mixed-signal electronics hardware for aerospace applications including command and control, data acquisition, signal processing, and communications
Schematic capture, PCB layout, and delivery of printed circuit boards, including component selection and design-for-manufacturability
Board bring-up, characterization, and debugging using lab test instrumentation
Collaboration with software, systems and mechanical teams to define hardware/software interfaces
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
Solid electronics hardware design skills with hands-on experience in verification and validation of designs
Strong working knowledge of hardware interfaces and standard protocols such as Ethernet, Serial, CAN, SPI and I2C
Experience with mixed-signal design (analog and digital), including signal integrity and power considerations
Proficiency with PCB design software (Eagle, KiCad, or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with lab test instruments for electronics test and debugging
Independent English speaker
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Eagle or KiCad specifically
Experience with HDLs (Verilog/VHDL) and FPGA design, simulation, and tools (e.g., Xilinx), including synchronous design and worst-case timing analysis
Familiarity with clock routing and management
Competence in SMD soldering for prototyping and rework
Familiarity in low level programming and driver developing in C/C++
Familiarity in UNIX systems and development scripts (e.g. bash/python)
Familiarity in toolchain configuration and Docket container development
Familiarity in git version control
