At Volvo Cars Design, we are redefining how our products are experienced, through cutting-edge visualisation powered by world-class digital assets.

We are now looking for a Senior Technical Artist to take a key role in building and delivering the digital car datasets that power everything from marketing to future customer experiences.

Digicar is Volvo Cars’ digital twin of our vehicles a fully configurable 3D dataset enabling everything from product imagery and configurators to future experiences. It forms the foundation of how we scale visualisation globally and maintain consistent, premium quality.

You will be part of Volvo Cars Design Team, working at the intersection of design, technology, and production, directly shaping how our vehicles are experienced by customers across the world.

What you'll do

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be at the core of our visualisation pipeline, transforming complex engineering data into clean, structured, and production-ready digital cars used across the organisation and by external partners

You will:

• Prepare, clean, and optimise CAD data for high-end visualisation
• Assemble complete digital vehicles ensuring correct structure, hierarchy, and variants
• Apply and verify materials, metadata, and specifications to meet production and marketing needs
• Deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality Digicar datasets
• Enable seamless use of data for Visualisation Artists and external agencies
• Collaborate closely with studio engineers, designers, visualization artists and developers
• Drive improvements in workflows, data quality, and pipeline efficiency What you'll bring

You are a technical problem-solver with an eye for detail, motivated by building structured, high-quality data that enables great creative output.

You:

• Have a strong understanding of CAD data, 3D workflows, and visualisation production
• Take pride in accuracy, structure, and quality
• Thrive working with complex datasets and multiple variants
• Communicate clearly and collaborate across disciplines
• Are proactive and continuously look for ways to improve how things are done

Minimum Role Requirements

• Strong experience in CAD data preparation for visualisation

Experience preparing, optimising, and structuring engineering data for rendering or real-time applications

• Solid understanding of 3D workflows and data structures

Knowledge of geometry, hierarchy, variants, materials, and production pipelines

• Experience working in a production environment

Ability to deliver high-quality assets within defined processes and timelines

• Cross-functional collaboration skills

Experience working with engineers, artists, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and usable outputs Volvo Cars. For Life.
