Are you a Chemical Engineer with a passion for chemical technology, industrial development work and innovation? We currently have an open position as a Process Development Engineer at our Process Technology Department. We are seeking an individual eager to contribute to our efforts in developing solutions that support Nynas in advancing the transition to a sustainable society.
About the role
You will be part of the Process Technology Department which is an R&D department within Manufacturing. Our main assignment is to run development studies related to production of Nynas long-lasting naphthenic specialty chemicals from different types of feedstocks at utilizing lab-scale units for distillation and hydroprocessing.
The key responsibility for the Process Development Engineer is to plan and execute development studies related to chemical processing for which there is a strategical or operational company need, evaluate results, and document findings from the studies in technical reports. The studies are carried out in small teams where all participants have different roles and together contribute with different skills and competences. You will also give support to the refinery at planning and execution of full-scale testruns based on results from development studies executed and thereby get the opportunity to participate in the work all the way from an idea to implementation. We utilize state of the art research results in our work, and you will be expected to read relevant scientific literature.
The position is base at our Refinery located in Nynäshamn, 40 min south of Stockholm.
About you
We believe you are a dedicated team player with great interpersonal and communication skills. You have the ability to plan, execute and finalize several studies in parallel. To succeed in this role, it is also important that you are creative and curious, eager to gain new knowledge, can work independently and yet open to considering other´s perspectives.
Requirements needed for the position:
- M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or corresponding competence otherwise obtained
- Skilled at writing technical reports and giving technical presentations.
- Analytical skills for evaluation of complex data.
- A strong safety mindset and a natural ability to identify potential risks related to laboratory work Fluent in English is required while speaking Swedish is a merit
