Portuguese translator specialist (M/F)

• translate and localize subtitles for TV shows, films, documentaries, and other audiovisual content from English into Portuguese / Spanish, preserving the original tone, meaning, humor, and cultural nuances,
• adapt dialogue so that translations feel natural and authentic to the target audience, while remaining faithful to the characters and context,
• edit and synchronize subtitles with audio cues, dialogue delivery, scene changes, and visual pacing, ensuring a smooth viewing experience,
• work with industry-standard subtitle editing and localization tools, following technical, formatting, timing, and readability standards,
• proofread and review subtitles for grammar, spelling, terminology, consistency, and overall linguistic quality,
• incorporate feedback from QA teams, editors, and project managers, making necessary linguistic and technical adjustments,
• manage multiple subtitle projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail,
• follow client- and platform-specific localization guidelines, style guides, and technical requirements across different types of media content,
• stay attentive to cultural references, idiomatic expressions, slang, and regional language variations to ensure subtitles resonate with the intended audience.

Requirements

• portuguese proficiency at C1 level, with a strong understanding of regional dialects, cultural nuances, and references,
• english proficiency at C1 level, with excellent comprehension of both spoken and written English,
• 1–2 years of experience in subtitle translation or editing, preferably from Polish, with familiarity with AI-powered translation and localization tools such as Phrase,
• strong attention to detail, excellent time-management skills, and the ability to work efficiently with media and audiovisual content,
• degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field is preferred.
