Senior Tender and Commercial Manager – Offshore Wind
Esvagt · Esbjerg, Denmark
You apply on the site where the job is posted. I never handle applications.
ESVAGT is the market leader and largest operator of Service Operation Vessels in the fast-growing offshore wind industry. Built on our mission to make the sea a safe place to work, we aim to grow sustainably. This demands quality in everything we do, from the crew on deck to the tender response that wins the contract.
We are now looking for a Senior Tender and Commercial Manager to join the growing commercial team and to take ownership of the internal sales activities. It is a role for an experienced analytical and structured profile, who can develop the commercial framework, optimize processes and rally an organization around providing quality input up to a tender deadline.
What you will be doing
Win the tender – Grow the business.
You take ownership of complex tenders from first screening to submission: clarifying bid conditions, turning customer requirements into winning solutions we can deliver, contributing to cost and price analysis and recommendations, and quality-assuring the final documentation. A strong tender is never a solo effort and you set the direction and keep the pace in close collaboration with the Head of Commercial – Wind, drawing on your colleagues in the commercial team and on specialists across the organization, so that what we promise on paper is what we deliver at sea.
Building the engine room
We are growing quickly, and our ways of working need to grow with us. You will map how a tender move through the organization, take out friction, and put templates, deadlines, clear ownership and lessons-learned routines in place that still hold when several bids run in parallel. Integration of AI will likewise be on the agenda. The process cuts across departments, so you will build it together with your colleagues rather than for them. This is a large part of why the role exists, and you will have a free hand to shape it.
Making internal and external reporting count
You take the lead on our internal and external reporting through the monthly and quarterly cycle, in close collaboration with the Head of Commercial – Wind and supported by other team members. Gathering input from across the organization, challenging the numbers and turning pipeline and performance into quality material, which we act upon.
Market intelligence – where are we headed
Offshore wind moves fast and, in your role, you will build and maintain a structured view of the market, covering tender pipelines, customer strategies, where demand is going next, and turn it into recommendations that shape overall strategy as well as how and where we bid. The preferred candidate can develop and succinctly present insights at all levels up to the Board of Directors.
Who we are looking for
An experienced tender person, who stays calm when three bids peak in the same week and who has strong judgement, negotiation, analytical and structure skills, as they weigh heavier than any background. Most people who thrive in this role bring:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, law or a related field.
- Substantial experience in tender or bid management, with a proven track record across different types of tenders, including EU-funded ones.
- A strong analytical and numerical toolbox: you are at home in cost models and price calculations and can build an argument from data.
- A genuine appetite for improving processes, templates and ways of working.
- The ability to run several tenders in parallel under tight deadlines without letting quality slip.
- The professional weight to be the person colleagues across the organization turn to when a bid gets complicated or for analytical recommendations.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What we offer
Offshore wind is one of the fastest-growing industries in Europe, and ESVAGT is enabling and growing with it. You are joining the market leader at the point where our commercial function is being developed rather than maintained, which means real influence from your first weeks and a role you can shape around your own strengths. You will sit close to the decisions, in a commercial team where the contracts you help win, set the course for our company in the years to come.
Every vessel we put to sea is there to make the sea a safe place to work and to keep the turbines behind the green transition running.
