Job Description
Rabobank has thousands of developers working across many teams, IDEs, and programming languages. GitHub Copilot is already in their hands. Your job is to make sure they get real value out of it.
As Senior AI Developer Enablement Engineer, you are the technical go-to person for AI-assisted development at Rabobank. You coach teams, try out new features before anyone else, prove their value with data, and make sure everything stays secure and compliant. You combine a solid software engineering background with a passion for helping other developers work smarter.
You will be employed by ITSync and placed at Rabobank for a long-term assignment.
What you will do
Coach and lead developers You help Rabobank developers get the most out of GitHub Copilot, across different IDEs and languages. You run workshops, pair with teams, and share best practices. You teach modern ways of working with AI, such as using AGENTS.md files, spec-driven development, and smart strategies to keep token usage efficient.
Test and introduce new capabilities You run proofs of concept for new features such as GitHub Copilot CLI and agentic workflows. Together with the security teams, you assess risks and decide whether a feature is ready for broad rollout.
Measure adoption and impact You build and deploy dashboards that show how Copilot is used and what it delivers. You work with AWS, Azure DevOps, Python, Databricks, and Power BI to turn usage data into clear KPIs for management and teams.
Keep AI use safe and responsible You help shape and apply AI governance: security, privacy, data protection, prompt injection risks, and data leakage detection.
Keep things running You handle operational work such as license management and answering support questions from developers.
Why this role is interesting
- You work on one of the most talked-about topics in software development today, at scale.
- Your work directly shapes how thousands of developers at a major Dutch bank write code. You get early access to new AI tooling and help decide what gets adopted.
Requirements
Must-haves
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with hands-on development experience (full-stack and/or infrastructure).
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or a similar AI coding assistant (Cursor, Claude Code, Amazon Q Developer, etc.), and a clear view on how to use it well.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum ways of working.
- Strong communication and coaching skills. You can explain technical topics clearly to developers, managers, and security specialists alike.
- Stakeholder management experience in a larger organization.
- Fluent in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering and agentic engineering (AI agents, AGENTS.md, spec-driven development).
- Experience with AI evaluation and benchmarking.
- Experience building dashboards with Python, Databricks, and/or Power BI.
- Knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI: security, privacy, prompt injection, leakage detection, and data protection.
- Experience in the financial sector or another regulated environment.
- A GitHub Copilot certification (GH-300) or relevant Azure/AWS certifications.
- Dutch language skills.
Who you are
- A developer at heart who enjoys helping others more than working alone.
- Curious about new AI tools and eager to test them critically.
- Pragmatic: you balance innovation with security and compliance. Comfortable being the visible "go-to person" for a topic across many teams.
Benefits
- Competitive salary in line with Rabobank's pay level for a comparable role: €5800 – €6800 gross per month, based on 36 hours.
- 8% holiday allowance and 25 vacation days per year.
- Pension scheme through StiPP.
- Long-term assignment at one of the largest banks in the Netherlands, with a clear path to a permanent contract.
- Training and certification budget, for example for GitHub, Microsoft Azure, or AWS certifications.
- Visa sponsorship: ITSync is a recognized sponsor with the Dutch Immigration Service (IND), so we can support highly skilled migrants.
- Personal guidance from a small, approachable team that knows you by name, not by employee number.
- Hybrid working in Utrecht.
