Are you an experienced logistics leader with a background in complex construction or infrastructure projects? We are looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of logistics services on a major infrastructure programme.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a pivotal role in managing site logistics operations, stakeholder relationships, and supply chain partners within a fast-paced and challenging project environment.
The Opportunity: As Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading logistics teams and supply chain partners to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage budgets and costs, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
Working closely with contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders, you will be instrumental in creating safe, productive and efficient site operations.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing logistics operations, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, suppliers and key project stakeholders.
- Managing project logistics teams and supply chain partners, ensuring resources are effectively deployed.
- Overseeing logistics budgets and costs, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Monitoring logistics performance, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, wellbeing and environmental requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement through the implementation of best practice and lessons learned.
- Managing traffic management, delivery management, waste operations, site cleaning and associated logistics services.
- Overseeing plant and equipment asset management, including audits and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the development and implementation of project logistics and traffic management strategies.
- Producing and present operational reports to senior stakeholders.
- Managing, motivating and developing a diverse and multicultural workforce.
You’ll need to have:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing logistics operations, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets and cost control.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
- Excellent planning, reporting and organisational skills.
- Extensive experience in construction, infrastructure or major project logistics.
- CSCS Black Card (or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 6 qualification.
- SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a complex project environment.
- Right to work in the EU.
