Within Philips’ Enterprise People Strategy team, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the delivery of our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting and compliance agenda within the People Function.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and compliance, supporting the coordination and execution of key ESG deliverables—including CSRD reporting, annual report development, and ongoing regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the ESG Lead for the People Function and collaborate across multiple teams to ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant reporting.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ESG reporting in a complex, global organization, contributing to Philips’ ambition to be a responsible employer and leader in social impact.
About the role
As ESG Reporting & Compliance Intern, you will support the end-to-end reporting cycle for People-related ESG metrics—from data collection and validation during hard close processes through to annual report preparation.
You will play both a coordination and execution role—helping to connect stakeholders, track deliverables, and ensure data quality, while also contributing directly to the collection and consolidation of key ESG metrics.
Working closely with the ESG Lead, you will gain exposure to senior stakeholders, regulatory frameworks (e.g. CSRD), and the internal governance required to deliver compliant, audit-ready disclosures.
Your role:
ESG Reporting & CSRD Coordination
- Support the coordination of People-related ESG metrics across the reporting cycle, including hard close processes and year-end reporting
- Help track timelines, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely and complete submissions
- Assist in aligning inputs from multiple stakeholders (e.g. People teams, Sustainability, and external auditors)
Data Collection & Validation
- Support the collection, consolidation, and validation of ESG data, including manual metrics requiring input from different teams
- Work with stakeholders (e.g. PPS, People Analytics, Rewards, etc.) to gather required data and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform quality checks and support documentation to ensure audit-readiness
Annual Report & Disclosure Support
- Contribute to the preparation of People-related ESG disclosures for the Annual Report
- Support drafting, consolidation, and consistency checks across reporting outputs
- Help ensure alignment between internal data, narratives, and external disclosures
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with teams across the People Function and beyond
- Support communication and follow-ups to ensure smooth collaboration and timely inputs
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and ways of working
Operational & Project Support
- Support ad hoc ESG reporting or compliance activities as required
- Assist in maintaining documentation, trackers, and process overviews
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate reporting activities where possible
You’re the right fit if
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Business, Economics, Sustainability, HR, Data Analytics, or a related field
- You have a strong interest in ESG, sustainability, or corporate reporting
- You are highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with data
- You are organized and able to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
- You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment
- You have strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively
