Your role

As Local HR Business Partner and Country HR Head for Austria and Portugal, you will shape and drive the people agenda across both countries. You will partner strategically with leaders to connect business priorities, country requirements and people strategies, creating the conditions for sustainable performance and growth. Your scope will include organization effectiveness, workforce planning, talent and succession, leadership development, employee relations and change management. Working in a matrix organization comes naturally to you as you balance country HR leadership responsibilities with global business HRBP accountabilities. You will influence people decisions across functions and help position the organization for future needs.

With your strong business acumen and credible, hands-on approach, you will build an environment grounded in trust, mutual respect, collaboration and shared standards. You will lead employee relations activities with sound judgment and ensure that people practices are applied consistently and responsibly. You will also manage the external payroll provider and take the necessary actions to support accurate and timely payroll processing, including preview calculations, forecasts and accrual management. In this high-change environment, you will turn complex challenges into practical solutions and help employees and leaders navigate transformation with confidence. The position starts at a gross annual salary of €80,000 and is eligible for a performance-based bonus, with the final compensation determined by experience, education, skills and other job-related factors; the benefits package includes paid time off, retirement contributions and other perquisites.

Who you are

• You hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least five years of relevant HR Business Partner experience.
• You bring a strong track record as a strategic HR partner in organization design, talent strategy, succession planning and leadership development.
• You have experience in HR operations and/or a global HRBP role within a fast-changing, matrix environment, ideally in the pharmaceutical or life science industry.
• You have demonstrated success balancing country HR leadership with global business HRBP responsibilities in a complex matrix structure.
• You have proven experience leading change and navigating complex transformation projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• You have a solid understanding of employee relations principles, practices, methods and programs, as well as applicable employment and labor laws, regulations and standards in Austria and Portugal.
• You communicate credibly and collaborate effectively across functions, cultures and levels of the organization.
• You combine a strong hands-on mentality with excellent execution skills, sound judgment and a commitment to fostering trust, teamwork and inclusion.
