This is a role for someone who really understands IoT and remote connectivity, not just in theory, but in practice. We’re looking for a senior technical person who can help define how we should build connected solutions going forward, while also being comfortable getting into the details when needed.
You work closely with backend developers and a Product Owner focused on remote connectivity. You’ll act as a technical expert in the team, supporting both roadmap discussions and day-to-day technical decisions.
Location: Sundbyberg, Sweden.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve secure and reliable connectivity solutions for products connected to cloud platforms and remote systems.
- Work with connectivity architecture, remote access, integration, performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Take a broad technical view of the solution landscape and help define how connectivity should be designed going forward.
- Evaluate current ways of working and contribute to improved technical approaches, principles, and solution design.
- Dive into technical details when needed to understand how solutions are built today and how they can be strengthened over time.
- Support the manager and product owner with technical direction, architecture input, and solution design.
- Act as a senior technical expert who helps guide decisions and supports the team in building strong, scalable solutions.
.
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or similar
- Solid experience in IoT connectivity and remote access solutions
- Strong understanding of connected product architecture
- Experience designing scalable, reliable connectivity solutions
- Good knowledge of networking and protocols such as MQTT, TCP/IP, VPN, cellular, and ideally 5G
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure — cloud is especially important in this role
- Good understanding of cybersecurity for connected devices and systems
- Experience from products that send data from the field to backend or cloud platforms
- Ability to contribute to technical direction and architecture decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset
- Ability to explain technical topics in a clear and practical way
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
It’s also a plus if you have
- Experience in backend development, for example Java/Spring Boot
- Experience from critical infrastructure or other industries with high demands on security and uptime
We believe you have worked as a senior engineer, system architect, or product architect within IoT, connectivity, or connected products. You probably have experience from products that are already on the market and used in real environments.
You might have worked with systems in water, pump stations, drinking water, energy, healthcare, automotive, industrial equipment, or other critical infrastructure. Exact industry is less important than having experience from connected products in real-world use.
