A Snapshot of Your Day
As a software developer in our turbine software team, you will play a key role in developing the embedded software that controls wind turbines. Your day will involve close collaboration with team members and stakeholders from around the world, working through the full software development lifecycle—from requirements clarification and implementation to testing and maintenance. You’ll contribute to innovative projects, participate in agile SCRUM teams, and help ensure our solutions are robust, secure, and high-performing. With a flexible work environment, you’ll have the opportunity to balance independent tasks with teamwork, both in the office and remotely.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and maintain control software in C++ for Linux-based embedded systems, ensuring reliable operation of wind turbines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive software testing, including unit, integration, and acceptance tests, employing strong CI/CD practices and AI-assisted programming.
- Refactor and enhance existing code to maintain fleet performance and participate in innovation initiatives such as code camps and ideation events.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by following agile development principles within a SCRUM and SAFe environment.
What You Bring
- Academic degree in IT, Software, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience in C/C++ software development.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming, software testing, continuous integration, and embedded control mechanisms.
- A keen interest in control of mechanical areas like aerodynamics, mechanics, hydraulics, power electronics and a passion for integrating hardware and software into safe, high-quality solutions.
- Familiarity with real-time protocols (e.g., ProfiNet), agile methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe), version control (Git), and task management tools (Jira).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, a structured approach, and a passion for delivering quality software in the renewable energy sector.
