Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy – fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $210M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.
We're creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing renewable generation and grid infrastructure to powering the next generation of AI and compute-intensive industries. As AI drives unprecedented demand for power and data center capacity, the bottleneck is no longer chips – it is energy, grid infrastructure, and the ability to deliver new capacity at speed.
Responsibilities
- Own data centre development in Europe end-to-end: from market entry strategy and early-stage opportunity through Ready-to-Build and energisation
- Evaluate and prioritise European markets - Nordics, Iberia, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France, CEE - based on power availability and price, grid connection timelines, land, fibre connectivity, climate, permitting regimes, and incentives
- Assess sites from technical, planning, power, and infrastructure perspectives
- Develop grid connection and power strategies with European TSOs, DSOs, and national utility providers across target markets
- Structure and support development financing: capital planning, project finance, and working with investors and lenders to fund development through delivery
- Lead planning, permitting, environmental assessment, and stakeholder engagement processes in each jurisdiction
- Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and development risks
- Ensure projects are deliverable, scalable, and aligned with construction requirements
Requirements
- Experience developing data centres or large-scale infrastructure projects in Europe, taken from early-stage development through design, permitting, and delivery readiness
- Deep knowledge of key European data centre geographies and why they matter - grid capacity, permitting dynamics, power markets, and where new capacity can realistically be delivered at speed
- Strong understanding of European planning and grid connection processes, including working with TSOs, DSOs, and national regulators
- Strong technical understanding of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and utility systems, with the ability to evaluate engineering decisions and challenge technical assumptions
- Understanding of development financing for infrastructure projects, including project finance structures and investor requirements
- Highly analytical, self-directed, and comfortable with significant ownership
- Willingness to travel across Europe; additional European languages are a plus
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Biannual bonus scheme
- Fully expensed tech to match your needs
