Are you ready to make a real impact in vaccine production?
Are you motivated by working as a technical specialist with responsibility for HVAC systems, compliance, and continuous improvement? Do you enjoy being the go-to person who keeps focus on time, budget, and quality, while also contributing to the ongoing technical development of a production facility that manufactures life-saving vaccines?
Then we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for a talented Utility Engineer to join our team on a 1-year parental leave cover, ideally starting on 1st October 2026.
Join our team and let us make a difference together
You will become part of our Engineering team within the Engineering, Utility & HVAC Support department, which consists of 18 dedicated colleagues with a diverse range of professionals, such as marine engineers, engineers, and technicians. The department covers the disciplines of Automation, HVAC, and Utility. You will report to the Senior Manager of Utility & HVAC Support.
Your Impact
In this role, you will be jointly responsible for the equipment and technical operation of all GMP and non-GMP HVAC systems across our three production facilities and our QC (Quality Control) and Warehouse departments. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for cleanrooms, HVAC systems, BSCs, and UDFs.
You will also lead your own optimization and improvement projects and act as a specialist/SME in other projects. The expected distribution of your work will be approximately 70% support, 20% own projects, and 10% SME participation in other initiatives.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring system robustness through effective maintenance practices
- Supporting technicians and users, including troubleshooting system issues
- Ensuring all technical aspects and specifications are documented during design phases
- Handling GMP and compliance tasks such as CAPAs and change control cases
- Preparing tenders for projects and managing suppliers and consultants
You will work closely with colleagues across departments as well as external suppliers and consultants.
Are you our next pioneer?
To succeed in this position, you should bring the following qualifications:
- A technical education at an engineering level (e.g., marine engineer or equivalent)
- 2–5 years of relevant experience from pharmaceutical production with BMS and system control
- Strong technical insight (both theoretical and hands-on)
- A solid understanding of compliance and GMP; experience with VHP/gassing is a plus
- Fully proficiency in written and spoken English; while Danish proficiency is an advantage
- Proven experience in leading improvement projects
About you
You are independent and comfortable managing larger and smaller operational tasks and projects. You enjoy combining specialist knowledge with a hands-on approach, and you are pragmatic and solutions-oriented, and capable of staying focused and delivering in a fast-paced work environment.
You work in a structured way, follow tasks through to completion and are used to solving problems in a way that helps prevent the same issues from happening again.
Why join us?
At Bavarian Nordic, you will be part of a meaningful mission: improving and saving lives through innovative vaccines. You will join a workplace with a strong team spirit, skilled and helpful colleagues, and the opportunity to take responsibility and grow in your role.
We offer a flexible and supportive working environment, exciting challenges in vaccine production, and an open culture with quick decision-making and opportunities for personal development.
