A glimpse into the role

As an Automation Engineer, you will become part of a global Automation team with 8 colleagues in Denmark and 2 colleagues in China. Automation is a key strategic focus at DESMI, and you will play an important role in further developing and strengthening our automation solutions.

We are expanding our team and are looking for engineers with different strengths and interests. Whether your expertise lies in PLC and software development, electrical and hardware design, system integration, or technical leadership, you will help develop robust and reliable automation solutions across DESMI's product portfolio. Working closely with colleagues across Product Development, Engineering, Production, Service, and Sales, you will contribute to delivering high-quality solutions that create value for our customers.

Depending on your strengths and interest, your main responsibilities could include:

• Development and maintenance of automation solutions for DESMI products and systems
• Design and implementation of PLC and HMI software
• Development and integration of electrical, control, and communication systems
• Participation in system testing, commissioning, and technical verification
• Preparation of technical documentation and support material
• Technical support for DESMI's global organization
• Driving continuous improvements of products, processes, and technical quality
• Ensuring solutions can be efficiently handed over to Production and Service

As someone who will join our Automation Team, we are looking for a skilled engineer who is a self-driven individual with expertise in automation technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.

We also imagine that you:

• Have an educational background within Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Have experience with automation systems, PLC programming, electrical systems, or a combination of these disciplines
• Enjoy solving technical challenges and turning complex requirements into practical solutions
• Have a structured approach to your work and take ownership of your tasks
• Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with colleagues across functions and locations
• Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken

It would be an advantage if you have experience with:

• PLC platforms such as Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal
• Hardware design, electrical schematics, and documentation in SEE Electrical or similar CAD tools
• Industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, or Profinet
• Pumping systems, water treatment systems, or other industrial applications
• Marine, defense, or other highly regulated industries
