Do you want to contribute to better health for all?
We are seeking an engaged and motivated Lab Manager to join a translational research environment focusing on cardiovascular, metabolic, and renal diseases. Our research combines experimental in vitro and in vivo models with clinical studies in humans, with the aim of understanding disease mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic opportunities, with a particular focus on reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide. As Lab Manager, you will be a central part of our research activities and play an important role in ensuring a well-functioning, safe, and dynamic laboratory environment. The position is a part-time position at 80% full-time equivalent (FTE), initially subject to a six-month probationary period.
Your mission
As Lab Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and development of the laboratory. You will plan, coordinate, and participate in laboratory work; ensure that equipment, materials, chemicals, and methods are available and function appropriately; and ensure that established procedures and safety regulations are followed. You will also contribute to and support experimental work within the group's research projects and serve as an important point of contact for researchers, collaborators, and suppliers. The role involves a high degree of individual responsibility and close collaboration with the research team to create an efficient, well-organized, and stimulating research environment.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree and solid knowledge of physiology and pharmacology, as well as practical experience working in a preclinical, experimental research environment. You are structured, detail-oriented, and solution-oriented, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and take responsibility for your work. You enjoy working independently as well as as part of a team and value close collaboration in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Extensive experience in designing and conducting animal experiments, particularly using cardiovascular, metabolic, and renal disease models, is highly desirable. Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. Previous experience in teaching or supervising students, particularly in cardiovascular, metabolic, and renal physiology and regulation, is also considered an advantage.
