We are now looking to appoint an IT Support Specialist to strengthen our European IT capability, based in our Madrid office. This is a hands on, technically varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across servers, networks, user support, and vendor management in a complex international environment.
You will work closely with the IT Manager, regional operational teams, external vendors, and our Head Office IT colleagues in Japan. The role offers exposure to enterprise infrastructure, international stakeholders, and real responsibility from day one.
Role Responsibilites
You will:
- Provide first-line IT support to end users via phone, email, instant messaging, and remote support tools
- Support PCs, laptops, mobile devices, operating systems, business applications, printers, networks, and conference systems
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and endpoint devices
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, escalating to second-line support where appropriate
- Process IT requests, including new starters/leavers, user account administration, software installations, device provisioning, and procurement of standard IT equipment
- Coordinate with external IT vendors to resolve technical issues and support procurement activities
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licenses, subscriptions, warranties, incidents, and technical documentation
- Monitor infrastructure alerts and support backup, disaster recovery, security, patch management, and system maintenance activities
- Document incidents, system configurations, operational procedures, and technical manuals.
- Assist with IT audits, infrastructure reviews, compliance activities, and the implementation of new IT processes and procedures
- Collaborate with the IT Operations team across EMEA and Head Office IT in Japan to ensure consistent service delivery
- Provide second-line operational support as experience develops and cover team members when required
- Participate in meetings, prepare documentation and meeting minutes, and provide ad hoc support to the IT Manager and management team
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a strong technical foundation and a pragmatic, service oriented mindset. You will ideally bring:
- Graduate level education or equivalent proven experience in an IT related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in networking and server troubleshooting within a professional environment
- Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and business software applications
- A solid understanding of IT security, hardware safety, and data protection protocols
- Confidence working in a multi stakeholder, international business environment
- Fluency in business level English and ideally Spanish, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel across EMEA as required by the business
The following would be advantageous but not essential:
