We are looking for a Controller to join our newly established Valuation Analysis team in Asset Management, based in Copenhagen.

You will be joining the Valuation Analysis team, a newly established team in the Asset Management unit in Danske Bank. The team has responsibility for improving valuation governance, performing valuations, valuation controls and challenging the valuation of the investments across Danske Bank Asset Management. The team will also be responsible for performing the valuation of the directly owned investments such as Private Equity assets.
Asset Management is responsible for asset under management of more than 1,100bDKK across equities, bonds, illiquid assets, hedge funds, index-trackers and multi-asset portfolios and servicing both retail, Private Banking, institutional clients and Danske Invest funds.
The team plays a central role in supporting valuation councils and committees, developing valuation methodologies and controls, and ensuring robust governance frameworks for both current and future investment strategies. The focus will initially be on the valuation of illiquid investments, but over time will expand to other asset classes.
Your role and contribution
- Review, analyse and challenge external valuations of alternative investments and fund portfolios.
- Develop and maintain quantitative monitoring tools, controls and analytical frameworks supporting valuation oversight.
- Perform risk-based valuation reviews, thematic analysis and control activities.
- Support the Valuation Council and Committees with analysis, documentation and decision material.
- Contribute to valuation methodologies, governance frameworks and control standards.
- Engage with external valuation advisors, fund managers and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to future valuation capabilities covering new products, asset classes and regulatory requirements.
Who are you?
- You have a background within finance/economics/mathematics or similar, analytical competencies.
- You have experience within Valuation, Private Equity, Investment Banking or Corporate Finance.
- You possess strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- You have advanced Excel skills, but adopt AI models as a natural part of your daily work.
- You are comfortable working with large datasets, and experience with Python or other analytical tools is relevant but not required.
- You are structured, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- You communicate effectively and challenge assumptions constructively.
