We're looking for an SAP Master Data Consultant to join our team in Spain in a remote working mode. In this role, you will be a key functional expert for SAP IS Retail Master Data, delivering best-in-class solutions that support complex retail business processes across multiple formats, channels and countries. You will work closely with stakeholders to design, configure and optimize SAP solutions, ensure seamless integrations and drive continuous improvements in master data governance and system enhancements.
This position provides the opportunity to work on large-scale SAP implementations, covering the full lifecycle from requirements to Go-Live, and to leverage deep technical knowledge while shaping retail data management capabilities in a global enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into functional designs and scalable SAP IS Retail solutions
- Propose and configure solutions, create detailed WRICEF specifications, and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Coordinate project delivery activities, including liaising with offshore development teams
- Perform unit and integration testing, and support UAT and Go-Live phases
- Deliver integrated business solutions across multiple formats and geographies
- Provide Level 3 functional support, application administration and problem resolution
- Contribute to Change Management initiatives, including creating training materials and supporting transformation programs
- Collaborate with cross-module teams to ensure robust system integrations
- Identify opportunities for process and system enhancements supported by clear business cases
- Promote continuous improvement through evaluating user experiences and adoption metrics
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in SAP implementations, with at least 7 years in SAP IS Retail functionalities
- Strong expertise in SAP IS Retail Master Data including article, site, customer, vendor and pricing conditions
- In-depth understanding of SAP IS-Retail architecture, data models and integration processes
- Experience managing master data objects, assortment and listing/delisting, and governance practices
- Knowledge of system integration techniques including ALE/EDI, IDocs (standard and custom), APIs, OData and middleware platforms (SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft)
- Experience with custom Fiori app development for master data processes
- Proficiency in SAP configuration (IMG), parameterization frameworks and value mapping logic
- Familiarity with enhancing standard master data objects and implementing custom validations
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end retail processes (P2P, O2C, Merchandising) and cross-module integration (FI, MM, SD)
- Hands-on experience preparing functional specifications and guiding technical teams during development phases
- Proven ability to perform unit and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing
- Excellent problem-solving capability and stakeholder collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Experience in creating and optimizing mass update tools (standard and custom, including LSMW)
- Familiarity with BAPIs, RFCs, user exits and custom enhancements
- Understanding of data governance protocols for retail environments
- Exposure to e-commerce and POS integration scenarios
