Are you passionate about both people and technology? Do you enjoy improving business processes while working with modern HR applications and digital employee services? As an IT Application Consultant within the Hire-to-Retire (H2R) value stream at Tata Steel, you play a key role in supporting and improving the systems that enable the entire employee journey, from recruitment to retirement.

You work closely with HR stakeholders, key users, Functional Administrators, suppliers, and development teams to ensure applications remain stable, secure, and aligned with business needs. In this dynamic role, you act as the link between business and IT, helping to translate business requirements into effective digital solutions. By improving applications, processes, and integrations, you contribute to a reliable and user-friendly HR landscape that supports thousands of employees across Tata Steel.

As an IT application consultant at Tata Steel...

• Ensure business continuity. You are responsible for the availability, stability, and performance of business-critical HR applications supporting the employee lifecycle.
• Be the first point of contact. You support users with functional application issues, incidents, and service requests, ensuring a reliable and effective service.
• Resolve application incidents. Working with vendors and support partners, you analyse issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Translate business needs into IT solutions. You collaborate with HR stakeholders and key users to gather requirements and support the delivery of functional improvements.
• Drive application enhancements. You support the continuous improvement of applications and digital services, ensuring they continue to meet evolving business needs.
• Manage system integrations. You monitor and improve interfaces and data flows between HR applications and related systems while identifying opportunities for optimisation and automation.

• A salary between €4,319.25 and €7,632.08 gross per month, depending on your experience, plus a variable profit-sharing scheme.

You enjoy working at the intersection of business and technology. You have a service-oriented mindset and are motivated by helping users and improving processes. You are analytical, organised, and able to translate business needs into practical IT solutions. Building strong relationships with stakeholders comes naturally to you, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where continuous improvement is key. You also have:

• A Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resource Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in application management, functional support, or a comparable IT role.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and external service providers.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management and change processes.
• Experience working within Agile environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Preferably Dutch language skills, although this is not mandatory.

Experience in the following areas would be an advantage:

• HR applications and employee lifecycle processes.
• Absence management, payroll, and workforce management solutions.
• SAP SuccessFactors, Identity Management solutions, and HR system integrations.

You will become part of the IT Development & Operations team within IT Applications & Transformation, one of the key pillars of Digital Technologies at Tata Steel Netherlands.

Digital Technologies enables business value by delivering secure, reliable, and scalable digital solutions across the organisation. Within this department, the Hire-to-Retire value stream focuses on supporting every stage of the employee lifecycle through modern, efficient, and user-friendly technology.

As an IT Application Consultant, you will help maintain and enhance critical HR applications and services. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to operational stability, compliance, and a seamless employee experience, making a direct impact on both the business and its people.
