Internship – NIR Model Validation & Production Implementation (Chemical Technology)

Join an industrial Nylon 6,6 manufacturing environment and help validate, optimise and implement an existing Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) prediction model. This continuation project focuses on improving model performance, analysing laboratory and production data, and preparing the model for operational use within production. The internship combines analytical chemistry, polymer analysis, spectroscopy, data analysis, process improvement and collaboration with production, quality, engineering and IT teams. Ideal for a third-year Chemical Technology, Applied Science or Chemistry student looking to gain hands-on experience in industrial data analytics and process optimisation.Key activities
- Validate and optimise an existing NIR prediction model.
- Compare NIR results with laboratory reference measurements.
- Analyse production and quality data using statistical methods.
- Support implementation of the model in the production environment.
- Develop procedures, recommendations and implementation documentation.
- Location: Rotterdam-Botlek (Rozenburg), The Netherlands
- Duration: 20-week full-time internship (HBO/Bachelor level)
