About the role:

We are searching for a Quality Assurance Specialist to support our EMEA Quality Assurance team.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support Subway’s Quality Assurance team in maintaining and strengthening product quality, supplier compliance, and food safety standards across corporate and master franchisee markets. This role works closely with Culinary, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, suppliers, and external manufacturers to ensure products meet Subway specifications, quality expectations, and market requirements. The role also supports product specification integration, product testing programs, supplier performance tracking, administrative execution, and market quality requests, and contributes to the development and execution of quality systems and programs that drive continuous improvement, supplier accountability, and compliance across the Subway supply base. The Quality Assurance Specialist will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Product Specifications & Documentation — Integrate, review, and maintain product specifications across internal systems and supplier documentation, ensuring quality requirements and testing expectations are clearly captured and up to date.
  • Product Testing Program — Coordinate product testing activities, including sample management, results tracking, corrective action follow-up, and maintenance of testing records.
  • Supplier Performance & Compliance — Monitor supplier and external manufacturer performance against agreed quality standards and specifications; support onboarding and qualification of new suppliers; assist in corrective action resolution and follow-up.
  • Supplier Visits — Attend initial production runs when required to ensure product quality meets the agreed specification, and conduct regular supplier visits to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
  • Quality Issue Investigation — Lead and support investigations into product non-conformances, market complaints, and quality issues, working cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Market & Master Franchisee Support — Address quality-related requests from Subway markets and master franchisees, including product documentation, supplier information, test results, and issue follow-up.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Participate in activities with Operations, Culinary, Supply Chain, and Marketing to support new product launches, supplier transitions, and product improvements.
  • QA Systems & Continuous Improvement — Contribute to the development and execution of quality assurance systems, tools, and programs that drive supplier accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the Subway supply base.
  • Reporting & Quality Analytics — Prepare reports, presentations, and quality trend analyses related to supplier performance, testing outcomes, and program status to support data-driven decision-making.

Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in a multinational food company, restaurant brand, QSR, or food manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with supplier audits, product testing protocols, corrective action plans, and specification management systems.
  • Experience supporting international markets or franchisee-based business models.
  • Understanding of HACCP and Food Safety

Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within food manufacturing, foodservice, QSR, retail food, or supplier quality management.
  • Experience working with external manufacturers, suppliers, or co-manufacturers.
  • Experience supporting or building quality assurance systems, supplier compliance programs, product specifications, or quality documentation processes.
  • Strong understanding of food quality, food safety principles, product specifications, testing programs, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams, suppliers, and international market stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on documentation, testing, and compliance activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; experience with specification management, supplier quality, or product lifecycle systems is a plus.
