Your responsibilities

You support the Customer Services Regulatory Compliance team by being in continuous contact with a multitude of topics and stakeholders. This will lead you to work with Legal, Parts Business Supply Chain, Procurement, ESG corporate projects, R&D, Customs, Website Team and knowing and fulfilling the latest EU regulations shaping the Customer Services of the future within the European sales company smart Europe GmbH. Your specific tasks:

Support and Coordinate Homologation

For spare parts that are manufactured in China concerning customs and trade regulations

Among those are REACh, SDS, Chemical labelling, Dangerous Goods ADR documentation - you will be in close contact with our Chinese headquarter and our colleagues in Mercedes Benz Germany

Research and Analysis

Conduct research on international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements

Analyze the impact of regulatory changes on the electric vehicle industry

Documentation

Assist in preparing and reviewing documents for accuracy and compliance

Ensure that all required trade documentation is complete and in accordance with national regulations in all 16 European launch markets

You monitor the reporting of waste residues to the authorities for the German market and help surveille the Extended Producer Responsibilities for all legal entities

Communication

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, procurement, and legal teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to regulatory compliance

Project Steering

The EU Battery Regulation will have a great impact on EVs in Europe

The project team of Digital Battery Passport Development will be waiting for you to steer milestones and prepare the monthly steering committee between HQ and smart EU

Training and Awareness

Assist in developing internal training materials on regulatory compliance

Conduct training sessions to raise awareness of trade compliance policies and procedures

Auditing and Monitoring

Participate in regulatory compliance audits to identify areas for improvement

Monitor and report on compliance metrics to track the effectiveness of trade compliance efforts and coordination with the launch team for new models and facelifts

What you bring along

You are enrolled in any of the following Master’s degree programs: Business Administration, International Management or a comparable course of study

Ideally, you have already gained experience in automotive and/or consulting environments and are fond of sustainability topics in the EU landscape

Ideally, you have interest for technical topics especially EV batteries

You are well-versed in the use of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

You are interested in the automotive industry, especially in the after-sales and regulatory business

You have an analytical mindset, data & KPI driven

You want to get involved in different areas and constantly learn new skills

Very good knowledge of the English language

Any other known language will be considered as a plus

You have a quick comprehension and a team-oriented and communicative working style

You are organized, reliable, creative and have an independent and precise way of working
