Marketing & Communication Intern

Look no further! We are looking for an aspiring Marketing & Communication intern to support us in our day-to-day operations.
About us
DMEC is an accelerator and knowledge centre for offshore renewable energy solutions. As a non-profit organisation, we advance innovation, support market development and further policy developments. Through this integrated approach, we create multipurpose energy solutions including offshore renewable energy (ORE), offshore system integration and nature-positive solutions for a wide variety of use cases.
As an accelerator, we lead international innovation projects, covering the entire trajectory from concept to commercial deployment of ORE solutions. We provide project management, technical, financial and market support for a wide variety of national and international ORE innovations.
We are an international team of 20 people (10 nationalities!), based in the Scheveningen Harbour, The Hague, The Netherlands. Join us for an unique, practical internship experience!
Position Overview
Our responsibilities in advocating for the ORE sectors cover a large number of projects and initiatives. We designed the following bullet points about the role, but in reality no two-days are the same! You could help prepare a project announcement draft, support a visit to the Dutch Royal Family, or shoot a technology showcase for multiple ORE SMEs with the coolest scale model. About the Role
- Content Development Create relevant content for DMEC’s and EU projects’ communication, such as our monthly ‘monitor’ newsletter, website, social media posts…, to increase our visibility.
- Visual & Video Creation Support the creation of informative communication visuals and developments of DMEC’s educational and project videos.
- Project Support Support the communication requirements of EU-funded projects within the ORE sector, with a particular focus on an Interreg North-West Europe project.
- Creative Input Contribute to the team to brainstorm on new and improved ideas and strategies for DMEC marketing & communication plan.
- Performance Insights Analyse data and provide insights to optimize marketing strategies.
- Team Support Provide support to the team around events, engagement campaigns and general outreach.
About You
- Educational Background Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year student at a university of applied sciences (HBO) or an academic university (WO) majoring in Marketing, Communication, Business, or Events.
- Proficiency and Communication Skills Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- Creative and Adaptable Creative mindset with an eye for detail, open to new approaches, and quick to adapt to changing tasks with a can-do mentality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a can-do mentality.
- Available for at least 38 hours / week for the period of 6 months, with the possibility for extension.
Nice to haves
- Experienced with Social Media Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, BlueSky, Youtube) and an understanding of their dynamics.
- Marketing Tool Knowledge Experience with marketing tools such as Mailchimp and Canva. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites, website development, AI integration as part of your workflow is a plus.
- An explorer at heart, and a walking planner Naturally curious about the ‘whys’ behind decisions, with an analytical mindset to question and bravery to challenge if things should be done differently.You also have a natural knack for planning and organising.
