We are seeking a motivated working student to support Ecolab's implementation of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The role will focus on managing customer requests for Declarations of Conformity (DoCs), maintaining regulatory documentation, and reviewing supplier-provided compliance information to support PPWR conformity assessment activities.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in European product and packaging regulations, sustainability compliance, supplier engagement, and customer-facing regulatory support.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Documentation Support
- Process incoming customer requests for PPWR-related documentation.
- Retrieve, organize, and distribute Declarations of Conformity (DoCs) to customers.
- Maintain tracking logs for customer requests and document deliveries.
- Support the management of the PPWR customer request mailbox and request forms.
- Ensure customer documentation is complete, accurate, and sent within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Customer Service, Sales, and Packaging Engineering teams to resolve documentation requests.
Supplier Documentation Review
- Review supplier statements, declarations, certificates, and technical documentation related to packaging compliance.
- Verify completeness and consistency of supplier-provided information.
- Track missing supplier responses and follow up with internal stakeholders.
- Support the organization and filing of supplier compliance documentation.
- Assist in identifying data gaps and escalating missing information.
Technical Documentation Management
- Support the compilation and maintenance of PPWR technical documentation files.
- Organize packaging compliance evidence, test reports, statements, and supporting records.
- Maintain document repositories and ensure proper version control.
- Support data verification activities for packaging materials and components.
Data & Reporting Support
- Update tracking spreadsheets and dashboards related to customer requests and supplier responses.
- Monitor status of outstanding documentation requests.
- Support reporting of compliance metrics and documentation progress.
- Prepare summaries and status updates for the PPWR compliance team.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in:
- Environmental Sciences
- Sustainability
- Chemistry
- Engineering
- Business Administration
- Law
- Regulatory Affairs or related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Preferred
- Interest in sustainability, circular economy, packaging, or environmental legislation.
- Experience working with data management or document control.
- Knowledge of EU regulatory requirements is an advantage but not required.
Skills & Competencies
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of documentation and data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with suppliers.
