To enhance fire safety and systems design in tunnel and underground infrastructure, we are looking for a fire safety and systems specialist to join our team in Lyngby. You will become part of COWI’s Tunnel and Underground Infrastructure MEP & Fire Safety team and work alongside customers and colleagues on some of the most complex, significant and innovative projects in Denmark and internationally.
In our MEP & Fire Safety section, we work with many types of systems for tunnels, bridges and metro stations and cover the full project lifecycle from idea, concept and design to operation and maintenance. You will be part of a global team of fire and tunnel ventilation specialists and contribute your expertise to both local and international assignments.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Develop fire strategy reports for tunnels and underground infrastructure.
- Develop fire systems design from concept stage through detailed design and supervision.
- Develop and implement design best practices and ensure design conformance with codes and customer requirements.
- Write technical reports and specifications.
- Review design work prepared by other specialists.
- Ensure optimum application of internationally recognised methods in accordance with local and international standards.
- Encourage and contribute to innovative and sustainable thinking in fire engineering design.

On top of that, you will have:
- A master’s degree in fire engineering or similar.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in fire engineering for road tunnels, rail tunnels and metro stations.
- Experience producing fire safety strategy documents.
- Experience designing fire protection systems.
- Experience with evacuation and smoke modelling.
- The ability to manage design from concept to detailed design.
- Interest in and knowledge of new technologies within fire engineering.
