The Doctoral School of Ecology and Evolution (
The Doctoral School offers an up to 4-months Completion Contract open to all PhD-candidates of the VDSEE. This means that you can apply for the completion grant regardless of whether or not you've had a contract with the University of Vienna before. This Completion Contract aims to support a highly qualified fellow in the final phase of their doctoral studies. The recipient will be employed as University Assistants (praedoc).
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
Your main task is to complete and to submit your dissertation.
You meet and consult with your supervisor(s) on a regular basis in order to priorities your tasks and get the necessary support to complete your dissertation successfully in time.
You actively seek support (workshops, training, coaching etc.) if necessary.
This is part of your personality:
General expectations:
Above-average Master degree or equivalent in a field of study relevant for the respective position.
Excellent academic and study record (e.g. FÖP within one year, annual submission of progress reports; outstanding publication record etc.).
High level of motivation and commitment to succesfully complete your doctoral studies within the anticipated time frame.
Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level)
Collaborative, team-minded and pro-active attitude.
High level of written and oral communication skills.
Experience with the structures of the University of Vienna.

Depending on the progress of the dissertation, the contract duration may range from two to a maximum of four months. The exact duration will be communicated to the applicant(s) after successful completion of the selection process. An extension of the contract is not possible.
