Gliwice (hybrid)##### Job description:
- Take responsibility for software verification of our on-board data processing units: decide what has to be tested, at which level, and on which target.
- Review software requirements for testability and keep them traceable from the system requirements down to the test cases that verify them.
- Write and maintain automated tests in Python: functional tests against firmware and Linux images, tests running on emulated targets and on real hardware on the bench.
- Maintain the traceability matrix and the tooling that produces it from the requirements, the test reports and the CI results.
- Keep the test suites running in CI, triage failures, and tell a product defect from a flaky test or a broken bench.
- Report and track defects, follow them through to a fix and a regression test.
- Prepare software product assurance documentation: test plans, test procedures, test reports and verification evidence for customer reviews.
- Audit the process itself: coding standards, static analysis results, code review practice, configuration management and release procedures.
Take part in design reviews and support the team in * ing product assurance requirements that come from the customer.
What we expect:
- Experience in software testing or software quality assurance of software that runs on a device.
- Willingness to work close to hardware: bench setups and reproducing a defect on a board.
- Practical knowledge of Python: writing test code, driving hardware interfaces from it, and keeping a test suite maintainable.
- Knowledge of a test framework and the discipline around it: pytest or an equivalent, fixtures, parametrisation, reporting.
- Ability to write a test procedure and a test report that someone else can repeat and audit.
- Understanding of requirements engineering and traceability.
- Comfort with Git, code review and a CI system.
- English sufficient to read standards and customer requirements, write documentation and take part in technical discussions with customers.
- Availability to work from our Gliwice office every Tuesday.
Nice to have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Automatic Control, Telecommunications or a related engineering field.
- Familiarity with ECSS software product assurance standards (ECSS-Q-ST-80), or with product assurance in another regulated industry.
- Experience testing embedded software, firmware or Linux-based devices.
- Jira and Jenkins.
- Static analysis, coverage measurement and coding standard enforcement.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop test setups or laboratory instrumentation.
