The Portfolio Lead Specialist operates and continuously improves the VTO enterprise portfolio framework-driving alignment on intake, scoring, capacity and dependency views across Product Lines and Functions. You own the integrity of the single system of record, orchestrate the Portfolio Board cadence, and deliver decision-ready insights that enable leaders to balance value, cost, schedule and risk.
Responsibilities
Manage and continuously improve the portfolio intake and scoring process across Product Lines and Functions, ensuring business cases, risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and stage-gate plans are complete, consistent, and decision-ready
Own and maintain the portfolio system of record, ensuring portfolio roadmaps, backlogs, and executive dashboards are accurate, transparent, and trusted across the organization
Establish and maintain capacity, cost, and lead-time visibility, highlight resource constraints and facilitating cross-functional prioritization and trade-off decisions
Orchestrate portfolio governance forums, including Portfolio Board preparation, decision materials, meeting facilitation, and follow-up actions to ensure decisions are executed effectively
Drive portfolio benefits realization by linking initiatives to strategic objectives, tracking value delivery, and ensuring compliance with governance, stage-gate, and change-control processes
Develop insightful portfolio analyses, scenarios, and recommendations that support value-based decision making and enable executive stakeholders to make informed choices
Promote effective stakeholder engagement across Product Lines, Functions, Finance, and PMO teams to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and optimize portfolio performance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5–8+ years of experience in portfolio management, project management, PMO, or business operations within technology, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments
Proven experience managing portfolio governance processes, including intake, prioritization, scoring, resource planning, and change control with measurable business outcomes
Solid analytical capabilities with experience interpreting portfolio metrics, capacity planning, schedule performance, business value, and financial benefits
Advanced proficiency with portfolio and project management tools such as Power BI, Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or Primavera; experience with portfolio platforms (e.g., Planisware,
Project Online, or Cplace) is an advantage
Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level reporting, facilitating governance boards, and documenting strategic portfolio decisions
Thorough understanding of portfolio management principles, business case evaluation, and benefits realization practices
